Question on Who Gets to Vote

Questions about electoral rolls, deletions, corrections, and access to registration reached the record only four times during the session.

A low count does not prove low political concern. Electoral administration is also scrutinised through committees, courts, the Election Commission, and public campaigns. But the parliamentary-question record remains important because it is searchable, attributable, and answered on behalf of the government.

The accountability gap

When a process determines who can vote, the public record should make errors, response times, and correction mechanisms easy to inspect. Four questions leave a very small window into a very large system.
